After a Fashion

The post you’ve all been waiting for… besides the ‘Top Ten Trends of SS09′ which, come to think of it, I should write seeing as how no one else’s blog (errr… at least the ones I read) has it up.

This post covers all four major fashion weeks… New York, London, Milan AND Paris, and was properly brought to you by the folks over at Women’s Wear Daily. Some of the picks I agree with, and some, well… let’s just say they missed the mark. *It’s no big surprise that I didn’t enjoy the D&G show in Milan*

But without further ado:

(In no particular preference order - from what I can ascertain from their site)

3. Dries Van Noten

4. Giorgio Armani

5. Jil Sander

6. Koi Suwannagate

7. Lanvin

8. Louis Vuitton

9. Marc Jacobs

10. Rodarte

You’ll notice that I only had coverage of a few of those collections up on the blog (if you want to search for them, please use the search bar at the upper-right-hand corner of this page, or the tag links at the bottom of this post).

I won’t go into full detail of the designers nor the collections, but I will offer a few comments. I TOTALLY agree with the pick of Chanel, Armani and Lanvin!!! Those are three of MY ten most highly coveted designer collections of Spring 2009. (Others include the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg and Narciso Rodriguez among others…)

I agree with the Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton picks (albeit not strongly), but I don’t agree at all with the D&G pick. They weren’t terrible, but the show certainly wasn’t good.

Overall, I think this list is well composed, but I find it rather hard (and I bet WWD did as well) to have a list of the Top Ten collections when there were soooo many designers at all of the major fashion weeks and there were soooo many good designs!
