Tokujin Yoshioka for Hermès

December 7th, 2009 · Comments

Tokujin Yoshioka has an installation running at the Tokyo Hermès store until January 19th… and may I say, that it is just simply amazing. Simple. Chic. God, Hermès much?

Oh, and it should be noted that the people over at Gizmodo don’t know what they’re selling… DO THEY NOT KNOW HERMES IS KNOWN FOR THEIR SCARVES!?

The Holidays are Upon Us: Part Two

December 5th, 2009 · Comments

Merry, ummm… December 4th everyone!
TWO MORE EXAMS AND THEN I’M DONE WITH THE SEMESTER! YAY! I’m super-duper excited to be taking an extended break away from school.
Up until now, my life has been filled with nothing but studying and finishing up my window display for the 303 Window Display exhibit around Denver. I finished on [...]

The Holidays are Upon Us: Part One

November 18th, 2009 · Comments

Currently, I’ve been completely overrun with exams (still have five left), term papers (I still have another two to complete) and other school shenanigans and related craziness… but I do have exciting news - some that has certainly kept my remaining free time occupied.
I wanted to have this post up a little over a week [...]

November 11th, 2009 · Comments

I have finally finished photoshopping my 50 favorite looks from the Spring shows of Fashion Month. I’m only what, a month and a half late - but in this time, I also did a comic and a pocket shoot, numerous exams and a whole bunch of other stuff. PLUS, each of these images took FOREVER [...]

LFW Roksanda Ilincic SS10

October 7th, 2009 · Comments

Dark and mysterious were the overtones at Roksanda Ilincic in her SS10 collection in London this season. Luxurious and feminine is what the audience feels when they finally step past the immediate Poe-vibe posterior.
The bold clash of textures and bizarre mix of materials (such as feathers galore) would have been enough to make even the [...]

PFW Chanel SS10

October 6th, 2009 · Comments

Lagerfeld’s ploy for Chanel’s SS10 collection was indeed a sort of risky business. As always Karl did not cease to amaze the audience by having an elaborate, albeit unconventional runway built in the Grand Palais in Paris.
There’s no doubt hay fever wafted through the air in the large, glass-domed palace and I’m amazed (although still [...]

NYFW Vera Wang SS10

Dear Vera Wang:
I love you to pieces. You’re fun! You’re eclectic! You value the SENSE of couture in everyday wears.
But, please…
This just screams Chanel too much for me to go on.
xoxo, - C

NYFW Herve Leger SS10

October 2nd, 2009 · Comments

The designer behind the BCBG collections once again wowed audiences with the higher-priced Herve Leger line this season.
Max Azria has always been one of the major voices behind the bandage dress in fashion. Given this parameter, Mr. Azria displayed a cool sense of familiarity that has won him much prestige in the past.  Even though [...]

NYFW Wrap-up SS10

October 1st, 2009 · Comments

I’m FINALLY nearing an end to my New York Fashion Week coverage… and why yes, I do realize that it was three weeks ago - University just gets in the way of everything.
Anyway, you MUST watch this video. You literally see everyone, even though the craziness of the tents is less than prominant.
P.S. keep a [...]

NYFW Oscar de la Renta SS10

September 30th, 2009 · Comments

Oscar de la Renta in the past has always presented amazing collections. Luckily, this season for New York Fashion Week was no different!
I was exuberant that a smooth sense of connection and correlation flowed throughout the Spring/Summer assortment of garments. The clothes had a unified composition of fabric - most notably silk, chiffon and satin. [...]
